Default Modelling Challenge Session 2: 01.28 - 02.06

With this session, I hope there will be more participants. Geomergers are more than wellcome, for this theme is friendly for both modelers and geomergers.
Don't forget to suggest a topic for future sessions here.

Each session lasts 10 days
  • The theme for this session is:

    Chimeras
    by Dominant-Male

    Yeah, big/small skinny/fat chimeras. Not the wc3-like. Go wild with your immagination and combine whatever parts of whatever animals together. If you do a concept art for this or you find a concept that you like, don't hesitate to post it here.
  • Rules:

    - Polygon (not faces/triangles, big fat polygons) limit: 1200 (2400 faces);
    - Each submission must contain 2 images: a wireframe view of all sides of the mesh (left, front, top, prespective, etc; do that with a screenshot, not render) and an image with a beauty-render; the render quality does not matter, but try to emphasise your model and to capture it at it's best. If you're a geomerger, post an in-game screenshot;
    - You must do something strictly for this challenge, old work is not allowed;
    - You MUST submit at least 1 WIP image before the final image. If done otherwise, your entry shall not be taken into consideration;
    - One is allowed to submit more than 1 submission;
    - Submiting images that are not related to the challenge theme shall be disqualified* and penalised;
    - Submiting content that is inspired from somebody else's already submited entry (steal ideea) will result in disqualfication and penalisation. BE ORIGINAL!
    - UVW unwraping or animation are not necessary (unles stated otherwise), but if they'll be done, the mesh shall be regarded higher when the judging shall take place;
    - Any violation of the rules shall result in disqualification and penalisation;

*If disqualified, you won't be allowed to submit any entries to the session you were disqualified from and your submission shall be deleted. Penalisation = negative rep.

Preferably not mechanical, but elemental could work if its a distinct form (like a Treeman or Revenant) because you could make almost anything with a loose elemental idea.

I guess you could do semi-golem.

weee im done already 702 polygons completely from scratch made in milkshape. took about 1-1 and a half hours.

i think im going to make this guy into a dwarf also by changing the legs and body shape::)

and another thing, milkshape as far as I know does not support polygons, just faces. and it triangulates the model, so all poly counters will count face and not polies. This obviously means that the 1200 poly limit might be a little small, can you put it in terms of faces?

1. a tauren is not realy a chimera, but it may be 'cause it's an ox with human hands...oh well, do it if you must, but that's serious lack of originality.
2. 1200 polygons are up to 2400 faces, so you can go wild with the details this time.

Anyways, I'm in on this if I can get my fecking copy of Max 5 to work, it's a bit fooked up at the moment, not sure why either...
