As some here might already know, english is my third language. So don't go expecting a masterpiece. Although I would very much appreciate it if you guys could tell me how to improve my writing.

When I met you
I understood all
never could your heart be mine
always would mine be yours

but your lover,
I could not become
so your friend,
I was determined to be

I remember it all so well
we laughed, smiled and talked
you did not suspect
Ô, sweet memories

but then it happened
realization dawned unto you
my naked feelings, you saw
and all bonds shattered

I feel it all too well
now we brood and play the game,
of strangers who know the other all too well
and my heart aches

all I ever wanted
was your friendship
but you did not wish it
and I bowed to your wishes

it is another you love
I feel neither jealousy or ill
but I wish him well
I wish only your best

it was him you chose
it is him you love
so I stand aside
and pray for your happiness

but this you did not see
you think I want you
when all I want
is your good
