Warcraft III Patch 1.17 Now Available

"The newest patch for Warcraft III is now officially available for download. It contains many bug fixes and balance changes, but also adds a few new features and two new neutral Heroes! To download the patch, simply connect to Battle.net. Your download will begin automatically. For those who wish for an alternate method of downloading, we will post the standalone version of this patch on our FTP site as soon as it becomes available. For more information on the patch, go here. "

Well It looks like we can go back to modding and probably to fix any new problem in our projects raised by the new patch.

And specially take advantage of the features like the Damage Trigger Actions, the lightning effects support and the new heroes.

Personally i HOPE they use the Firelord. I've been thinking of a counter on 1.16 forever... ^^j

A side effect of the patch is that a frost time of 0 (either frost nova or frost armor) perma slows the enemy (why does Blizzard have to do such useless changes like changing the behavior of 0 as a data entry. Haven't they learned from breaking many maps with the same change concerning stuns or do they just not care).

Is there a way to download the patch without having to connect to battle.net? I heard that blizzard has an ftp site for stand alone patches but they haven't put it up on the server yet. Is there any other way I can get the patch?

the ftp site is

ftp.blizzard.com

all you do is go into the pub folder and then into war3 or war3x ( war3x if u hav the expansion)

then click on the folder patches then scroll down the list and download what ever language version you want.

I had to re-install roc and tft for new patch to get working for me........
Havent really tried the two new heroes though.

Sounds real nice n stuff, but they dont tell anything about it in the patch features -_-

It doesnt say anything about the WE changes in patch log like it usually does..
