every time i try to Dl AMAI it opens up in notepad, i cant do anything with it, i have perl.

You need to ensure you selected the add PATH environment variable in the install options of perl and ensure you associate perl files with. Can't remember exact options in the installer but was something along those lines and are usually selected by default.
