Rising_Dusk is right about Shockwave causing lag. He already mentioned the solution, Carrion Swarm. I'm sure that if you replace the dummy spell as mentioned you will see a significant FPS improvement.

I am convinced the thing is caused by the base spell.

Only has large fps drop permanently if speed? (may be distance) is set to 0
It has happened since 1.22 patch

Try using shockwave alot on this pile of 1000 shrubs.

Then change distance and speed of shockwave to 0 and see what happens

Anyway, just swapped with carrion swarn, it has 0 distance and it does not drop the fps permanently, models themselves do seem to drop fps but much less than before.

Will update once I finish other tweaks.

No, it is just that when I was reviewing the code to find the cause of the leak, I noticed I was already using a static group, another one wouldn't have done anything to the spell, so the whole idea to use GroupUtils to save me the hassle of having a static group fell and I just got rid of the function call stuff added by GroupUtils.

GroupUtils is best for things like keeping logs in unit groups (which needs to stop leaks) and patching old code using dynamic groups.

Well, I also discovered recently that lots of shockwaves is causing laggs.

It's because it uses terrain ripple effect which is laggy was hell. Also same reason why you shouldn't use terrain ripple triggers which I also had to abandon :(

I went over the code and it appears to be fine as far as I can tell. Once I get home tonight and verify that the spell actually works in-game as listed (or if someone else tells me that it does), then I will approve this.
