Dark Troll Totemic

"Hell, it's about time."

Dark Troll caster girl made for Hero Contest #4 in late 2009 with TEC_Ghost as the coder. Unfortunately, we never finished our submission which left her sitting lonely in the Pastebin for 8 or 9 months.

Mesh is made by me, Texture is made by me with the exception of the texture used for the stone heads which is CnP from the Ancient of Wonders. Animations are from Jaina.

We came up with some nifty ideas for the item interaction before I had to go hereisyourart kthxbai and leave on holiday until January.

The basic idea is: Each spell has an associated stone head which is stacked on the others like a totem pole. When a particular spell was used, the corresponding head would light up or otherwise come to life. The heads are team coloured, for your convenience. The heads are set up to function like the Human Cannon Tower; they pivot around the Y axis to face the target they are attacking. Additionally, each head has attachment points in the eye sockets (hand, left and hand, right) so you can attach effects such as Bloodlust or others of the same size such as the Spell Steal or Orb of Slow missiles. You'll really just have to play around with it to get it right, or alternatively make your own effects :> So yeah, you could use them as specialty TD towers or traps or generic doodads or whatever takes your fancy :)

I have no idea how you would go about implementing the heads as part of a spell in a map, so don't ask me. Perhaps TEC_Ghost might finish and submit the hero, or even some kindly passing coder might make their own :3

The texture has no path, ie remove the "War3MapImported\"

The .zip contains some lazy screenshot icons, should you wish to use them as well.

Very nice :), there are only two things that I think that can be made better:
The bra dissapears in the back side :/
She has no tusk at all,maybe you could geomerge some and put 'em outside the mask where the mask is tighter.

She looks really great; and it really makes me wish she had custom animations. Nevertheless, Jaina's animations work great. She lacks one key troll characteristic, however, as pointed out by mistertea - tusks. It would be great if you could add them, like coming from the sides of the mask or something.

Man Anemic, we should've gotten together long ago... made some sweet Troll music.

Basically, wow. Really cool. I'm not even a fan of Dark Trolls and this is cool.

+ Not enough female Trolls
+ Jaina anims are little-used
+ Troll!
+ Hair is FTW
+ Mask is even moar FTW.

- Head-on-Staff is a little strange...
- Yeah... Not sure you could fit less clothes on a given model. :P
- Lacks something... "game-presence" wise. Very thin and small and under-armored for Warcraft. Sorta disappears (which is a shame, because this girl, much like a true black lady, seems to be all about presence! :P)
