Default WotTH Demo : Settling Loch Modan

Our demo is in production, and has been for awhile now. Fanatic-Templar has been terraining it and he's been doing a great job. Its going to include many of the custom things included in the campaign. The demo will be strictly an RPG.

The Story
After the great civil war was concluded each clan looked to settle down in their new locations. The Bronzebeards soon rebuilt the parts of Ironforge that were destroyed and looked to settle near by lands. Looking off to the east they found the warmer, milder land of Loch Modan. Deciding it was a good spot to start a new colony they sent a group of explorers to explore the land around, and a group of builders to start the colony. Soon after they had finished building a town problems started occuring. Explorers disappeared and builders became afraid. So Thane Madoran sent a young Mountaineer to help and a chance to prove himself...


Quests(what I've thought up so far)
1st Quest: You start out just entering Loch Modan, on the road from Dun Morough. You must go speak to Magistrate Bluntnose, the mayor of newly founded Thelsmar.

unlocks quest 2

2nd Quest: After speaking with Magistrate Bluntnose he tells you to go speak with the locals about problems they are experiencing, and to eliminate a near by group of kobolds just southwest of Thelsmar.

unlocks quest 3


3rd Quest: Jorri Brownbeard tells you about a band of gnolls attacking settlers trying to establish farms and settlements. Your task is to destroy the gnolls southeast of Thelsmar.

unlocks quest 4 after also completing quest 2.


4th quest: After completing Jorri's task he tells you that Magistrate Bluntnose wishes to speak to you, has a very important task for you.

unlocks quest 5

5th quest: Magistrate Bluntnose wishes you to escort a group of builders to a site just north of Thelsmar where a build has been attempted, but stopped by a unkown force.

unlocks quest 6


6th quest: After escorting the builders there you find a dying dwarf who, before he can tall you what happens dies in your arms. Report this to Bluntnose.

unlocks quest 7


7th quest:
Magistrate Bluntnose orders you to destroy the Silver Stream Kobolds who are possibly responsible for this. Their den is located north past the new outpost.

unlocks quest 8


8th quest: After you return to Bluntnose you hear news that there has been another attack on the outpost proving the slaughtered kobolds innocent. Rumors are that there is a Darkiron outpost near the south end of the Loch. Your new task from Bluntnose is to investigate upon this and kill the Dark Irons.

unlocks last quest

Final Quest:
Your final mission is to investigate the lands east of the Loch and destroy the creatures possibly stopping future Bronzebeard settlements.


Hero - Mountaineer(you)
I have no clue what spells he should have *hint hint* but I though up an idea of him having a skill book, and you get new skills after you do quests. Skill would have long cool downs but would not cost any mana.

Skill Ideas
Burst of Speed - Name says it all.
Throwing Axe - Ranged attack.
Resistance - Creates an antimagic around the Mountaineer for a short time.
Firebrand - Enchants his weapon as though wielding an Orb of Fire.
Stoneform - increases armour but reduces speed for a short ime.
Bash ( as a single, stunning melee attack, not a passive skill )
Trap - Ensnares the Mountaineer's enemy target for 20 seconds.
Meld - Camouflages the Mountaineer into the environment increasing his defense and making it harder for enemies to attack you.

Bash as a single hit means I'm gona kill everyone while taking zero damage by running to the enemy > bash > hit > hit > Run > Cooldown > Repeat.

Trap should be nerfed as 20 minutes is way too much , should be 12 or 15.

Since The demo would be probably an RPG why not give him temperory defence > Divine shield with diffrent name and also nerfed with more cooldown.

Ever thought of an AoE spell for him? like he throws 5 axes that damage all in their path in the area (not all together at once ofcourse since he doesnt have 5 hands but instead one by one).

Would you really waste all your skills fighting one thing?

Trap is 20 seconds, not minutes...

Ill keep temporary defence in mind and the AoE spells.

Eh sorry I ment seconds but In case of bash I know no one would bother it but try making it passive or % chance success when used.
