Pathing is the easy part like litany described somewhat. But it's only easy if you know how to do it. And even then it's hard to make it look at least somewhat realistic especially with strange things like for example an angled bridge which would require tons of regions and even with the regions it still might not look perfect.

Litany made a good mention to cosmetics though about playability. Pathing isn't the only problem since casting spells would be severely different. You can't exactly have aoe spells since they will always hit the terrain level unless you completely trigger them so they occur on whatever level the unit is currently on. And you can't exactly have target skills cause targeting a unit would be impossible when theres one on top of another really. And then what if a player really wanted to target the area above or below yet is still forced to target his level?

Umm.. Litany is right... Libraries and scopes are NOT triggers at all. It's code. Triggers are code that has event-response conditions and actions. Libraries simply hold functions, and scopes do pretty much that too. And Litany is still right about the "JASS without triggers" things, since Libraries don't need event-response stuff to work. Look at TimerUtils, for just one example. It's a library, it has code, it's JASS/vJass, and uses no triggers. Ta-da!

On topic...

I like this terrain a whole lot. If it could be played in that'd be fricken' sweet.

In the sense of 'triggers' as 'triggering', you can indeed vaguely refer to the script of a map in general as its 'triggers' and people will at least hopefully understand what you mean.

However, in particular if you're already on the context of 'doing things in jass', 'triggers' much more specifically refers to...well, triggers, in the sense of both the handle type and/or their basic event/condition/action structure.





Anyway, <3 the terrain. Fantastic use of the models.

You cant make the whole pic playable ofc, but you can build a playable terrain in this style. It just need a careful planning.
