a) don't have enough members
b) people don't know about it.

i can tell you from experience that it doesnt matter how many people you have on your team... youve gotta have the drive... you just have to have the drive.

i had one person on my team. me. i had the drive, and got a lot done...

but i lost that drive somewhere between last year and september 04

hmmm

anyway its not the number or people you have or the amount of attention, its the drive.

well even if you have drive, you might not be able to do certain portions of the project, and finding other members with drive is hard, that's why you need exposure

Defenitely better staff - some of the mods break the rules more than they enforce them.

And a better ranking system. By that I mean rep - Members who have higher rep have waayyy too big an effect on another's rep.

Not really, for example johnffn gives like 7 points, I give 5, nothing much if u think about it. Only moderators and admin do, fladian gives like 14, and dorelian 20 something.

Yes that is true, but having a tutorial to refer to is a huge help. I plan on making a bunch of video tutorials that start from basic modeling to unwrapping your model to rigging it, to animating it, to adding particle effects, and attachment points.

I still look at the tutorials in the tutorial section because there is usually something different that someone else does from the way that I do things. I test out there way and compare it to my own. If theirs is better I'll do it that way, if not I'll continue with mine.

If you listen to what others are trying to teach you even if you already kow what it is they are teaching you might just learn something new.

sometihng i just thought of.

sig size/content limit... no one wants to see a thousand smileys or 10 pictures of their mod or the giant list of percentage done or like a bajillion gif images that absoultely kill 56k.

i suggest a limit on the number of characters and picture size/filespace

content monitering too. crazy sigs like wormskulls that are, at times, obscene, and Beams which practically scream 'this is a site home to perverts' really drive off certain people...

just my thoughts on this...

I don't think that Wormskull has had that many bad (eg perverted) signatures..

Also, I strongly disagree with your character limit proposition, because that makes writing things like tutorials and extendedly long posts a real pain. Additionally, you can still spam 1000 characters - it doesn't really make a difference. Maybe the post should just be scanned for repeating sequences of characters and then if it does maybe checked out by a moderator or something before being submitted.


Oh wait! it was about SIGNATURE sizes. My bad, totally misread your post.
