When you think about the whole list of versions between 2.9 and 3.9 and that each one came with at least one bug fix, I find it hard to believe you were actually able to use 2.9

i assume the optimizer could cause certain spells to fail, or bug, i have a few that seem to do this, sporadically, however only when optimized

what u fixed with the whole screwing up game cache thing, could that have possibly fixed any errors in my map with periodic movements failing?

Question Version...

I was wondering whether it's safe to use 3.9d because I have 3.7b and I've been lookin at all the bugs 3.9d has ... is this normal for each version? I just use the triggers in world editor and don't use JASS...

having used 3.9c some options like anti BJ crashed one of my maps very fast while playing it... overall a very nice tool though *dls 3.9d*

- Try setting the "Force UPPERCASE" names option

Question

I'd like to know which options [u]should[/u] be marked and which [u]shouldn't[/u], when optimizing a map.

I mean, what options are [u]known to be safe to activate[/u], not affecting the map's triggers, strings, and all the rest.. that can cause bugs and crashes when playing.


One more thing,
By optimizing a map, with the options you will recomend me :emote_grin: , does it automatic *protects* that map, making it unable to open with WE ?

To answer the question, you most of the maps would work correctly when you check all the options that are not in the "not recommended" section.

If you test your map and war3 can't load the map then optimize it again but this time also check the "Force Uppercase names" option.

If it still can't load then it is a bug with the optimizer and you should tell me. It is also a bug if the map crashes in moments it shouldn't crash when not optimized, unless you use a lot of strange JASS code you shouldn't really worry about this.

If the optimizer causes issues then disable the most dangerous options, which would be the "optimize bj functions" , "remove useless code", and the "Merge" one.

But notice that your map is not going to be hard at all to "unprotect" if you don't use the merge option.

Hi, i have one minor typo to report and one feature request. This version says 3.9c in title, not 3.9d.

As for the feature, could you make it so you could pass the exe the input and output map files as an argument, so this could be run in a batch script. Since the widgitizer now has that ability, it would be very nice to just be able to click 1 script and have it send to widgitizer then send it to your optimizer. Please consider this. Thanks for the awesome tool!
