I've started just using the globals block for USER_CONSTANTS, and coding everything else into a struct:

It makes it pretty obvious what you are supposed to edit, and also I've gotten used to writing a . before most of my variables.

I prefer standard JASS syntax to the struct syntax for some reason. It's bizarre, because for other programming languages like Python I use the . syntax everywhere with no qualms, but I have issues with it in JASS.

This is something I will defer to coding style - I'd never disapprove of a resource for this kind of thing, so it really doesn't matter in the end. So long as the code is easy to follow and is well-indented, it's no big deal.
