I am sorry , but I'd say that the optimizer problems are due to using linebreaks instead of |n ?

Just use |n , it is fine. (Edit: Now that I read darkwulf's PM, I am about sure that it is because of encoding, try encoding the custom wts with UTF8)



Also, the mpq editing part is not necessary at all. You know, have you seen some of my demo maps in which the creeps have their attributes as if they were diablo monsters? It was simple, go to the name field in the object editor, keep shift pressed and double click. Shift works to allow you to insert long stuff with |n and linebreaks just like it allows you to place -1 durations in some places.

Actually, since my method doesn't require touching the wts manually, perhaps it fixes the issues with the optimizer as well.

Incorrect. I just tried it and it still imposes a limit, even with shift+click. I've tried that before. I'm not sure why it works for you, but...

unless your operating system is VERY old, even your standard text editor has the option for you to choose what encoding to save a text file in. Wc3 and the optimizer are supposed to only support UTF8

Okay, I think I know what you mean now. I'll do some testing with it and see what happens. Though the tooltips work fine w/o the optimizer, so..

You can make the string really long with Risc's colorizer that comes with JNGP.

when i create these destructables via GUI, the trackables under it will be unusable, but if i place and test, the trackable is fully supported..

well, i solved this tho, i had to create the destructable under the trackable cus it generates trackable height via Walkable = True, and then just remove it, then later i got the tooltip with text macro to work.

they can be as long as youd like if you use ALT-255 as space, "*" on this site, so youll have to make the " " via alt-255 as space.
