It is because file extension is uppercase, for example Gremlin.TGA
Just lowercase the extension to fix it: Gremlin.tga

(I will make new version to overcome this problem automatically, gimme 10 min)

How come it doesnt support .blp

I think I'll just make a similar photoshop plugin, it should greatly save time. Or make a tool that will import an icon into the map and create disabled/passive/etc versions.

It does not support it because there are 3 different .blp types that wc3 uses
I have reader only for one of them, and would have to make other 2.
I could do that in 1-2 days but I don't have 1-2 days to waste atm.
Especially considering there are number of tools that can extract blp images.

There is also a problem of some tools making invalid blp images,
for example Wc3 Image Extractor II or BLPaletter
And I would have to support their "custom" BLP formats as well which is simply a pain in the ass.

Grimoire can do that, read it's documentation.

Also there are other warcraft borderizer application out there I have seen at least 2 Russian versions, but they are all windows application.

wc3borderizer is java and thus platform independent.

99% people use windows (dont correct me, I don't care about exact numbers)
The other 1% can use wine/whatever emulates windows on macs - this is better than losing some performance by using java.

And about "custom" blp formats: is this why I sometimes get all pixels transparent when viewing BLP with my code (I'm trying to make it into a photoshop plugin)?

And btw both types of paletted BLPs take like 30 lines to parse, JPEG blp's is longer because of the library functions, but all BLP code fits into 218 lines for me. TGA in 280 including rle formats.

Well you don't have to prove me anything, just make what ever you are trying to make and prove yourself that you can.

PS: use 2-dimensional array.

A year or something back, Cohadar had this very "GUI SUXXORZ" attitude and might still have it...

Actually contrary to Tide-Arc Ephemera beliefs I like programming in GUI's (swing being one of my favorite ones) but wc3borderizer really does not need GUI.

I mean even Tide-Arc Ephemera can use it with one click....

ya know they changed the ocmpiler for wc3...maby it will support newer jpg standards now o.o meh cant hurt to try =/

knowing blizz tho if it does it was compleatly on accident

can u make the borderizer to add "PAS" on passive buttons, because it only adds "BTN" to the name of the image, and if u imported the both passive and normal icon, youll never know wheres the real passive and the normal icon
