![]() Meh. I won't be surprised if this gets half-assed. Apparently Activision is famous for that. It's already happened to Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 already.

![]() I was nostalgia tripping talking about WC3 custom maps with a friend so I came to check out good ol' WC3C. Seeing my old forum posts is disgusting, but I suppose that's the way it is for most people. You guys are still awesome glancing over your posts, at least.
__________________I'm still sad the SC2 custom mapping scene never really took off. I remember being really stoked to see what we'd be able to do with a brand new engine when it was announced, with the WC3 engine already showing it's age for a while at that point. I was hoping the whole WC3C community would move on to SC2 with me. Galaxy editor delivered on lifting a lot of the limitations that I wanted it to, but the object editor was extremely unintuitive compared to what I was used to. What really killed SC2 custom mapping though, in my opinion, was the hosting system they had at launch, making it nearly impossible to try and discover new custom maps. Somehow maps got more exposure on a list that was 90% DOTA being auto-refreshed than they did in Wings of Liberty. Quote:

Then again, I was a WC3 player first before I became a modder, so maybe once I get to play all those supposedly great SC2 maps I might grow an interest. Still, it sucks a lot that my skills are completely non-transferable, at this point I'd be better off going stand-alone like Rao is doing. |

![]() What ever happened to the Andromeda add-on to Galaxy (similar in purpose to vJASS)? If memory serves it was released (vs abandoned) and it seemed to be pretty solid with full OOP, java syntax etcetc.
I never got into SC2 editing all that much because the object editor replaced the script editor, which is pretty much the complaint everyone from wc3 has, but I was going to give it another go whenever I got around to setting up Andromeda Quote:
