Hey... What would cause JassHelper to not recognize a syntax error?

EDIT: Okay, this is retarded. Since JassHelper doesn't know where the error is, I deleted the only trigger that I changed that could've caused it. And yet, JassHelper insists that something is still wrong, even though I changed nothing else before saving. Great...

EDIT 2: I can save the map, but WCIII won't play it. So... is something really wrong, or is JassHelper tripping? It has to be me... I'm going to do some more testing.
Gwypaas' problem was fixed by extracting newgen to another folder and running it from it.

Your antivirus software is probably destroying it.

Everytime I start NewGen, my comp restarts. What could be the reason for this?
I've tried reinstalling. Didn't work.

EDIT: The normal WE works fine.

No, and Norton doesn't say anything to it.

What he means is that some antivirus software may be deleting files without your knowing.

So what should I do? Re'install' it? Because I already did that. Twice.
Wtf, after a day it suddenly works! Strange...

Hmm... I installed this and when I try enabling anything under the UMSWE menu I get an error saying "Cannot start plugin". Also, when I tried running JassHelper standalone it can't find SFmpq.dll. I'm running Vista-64bit.

Has anyone been using grimext tools such as ObjectMerger.exe through wine? Lua (used by grimext) requires MSVCR80.dll because of Visual Studio 2005 sp1, but it's a pain in the ass to get working. Winetricks is not doing the trick. I've tried installing it several ways using a clean wine to no avail. If it is installed under winxp it cannot find the MSVC80 manifest, if it is installed under win2k then it complains about an invalid access to C runtime files. Any suggestions?

*note: Vex pointed out that even wc3 uses this dll, so it shouldn't be a problem. I think it has something to do with the weird way Lua for Windows comes bundled with Visual Studio 2005.

nevermind... got it to work. It does have something to do with the way it packages it's program. If anyone runs into this problem in the future here is how you solve it.

The Lua directory contains an installs/support/ folder. In there are two directories called Microsoft.VC80.CRT and Microsoft.VC80.CRT.SP1. We're only interested in SP1. Copy it to the main Lua directory where lua.exe resides. Now remove the .SP1 suffix from the copied folder by renaming it to Microsoft.VC80.CRT. It should work now. If you get an error when you run lua saying the manifest is the wrong version then you copied the wrong folder.

Im out of options i guess.
I constantly get the old error "Couldnt start word editor. An instance.... ect..."

I have tried many things including the following:

Re-install warcraft. (didnt work)

delete newgen
reboot pc
turn off kasperski
reinstal newgen
run newgen (didnt work)

I did this all while having the cd in my drive.

Trying to solve this problem I now have 3 versions of warcraft. One cracked (1.21) One patched up to 1.21b and one patched up to 1.22.
Non of which work when i force Newgen to take a different path in "findpath.lua" or in the regedit.

I tried everything, i even read 60 pages of this devil dammed thread with no result. What am i diong wrong?!?!

Has anyone else got the same error as me? Sometimes, when I open up my map, it would display this error:

JASSHelper Error
Access violation at address 100005084 in module 'SFmpq.dll'. Read of address 0000015B

It doesn't seem to stop me from continuing the map though as I get no errors while I edit objects and triggers, but I wanted to make sure just in case. All I know is that there's a 'SFmpq.dll' in the JASSHelper folder in NEWGEN but I don't know what could possibly be wrong with the file. I even tried re-downloading NewGen to see but it still occasionally gives me the same error.
