honestly, if you ask me, creating a tech-tree based on pre-made stats isn't too daunting. Took me not even a week to complete the Warcraft 1 Orc and Human techtrees.

Course i've only done a few simple techtree's so im not uber experienced.

Yeah the nice and simple part. I think i still got my very first version 1.00 of the war2 mod... well was just a map at that time. Turning it into a mod was beyond comprehension that long ago.

The spreadsheet work took the long time though. Going into war2 checking stats, comparing to stats in battle.net and then converting into war3 stats so that they match gameplay wise. Oh the agony. You know it was so long ago i've forgotten all the details of it. I just have the messy spreadsheet as proof that i did it lol. After that it was onto the spells and the complex triggering and its been complex triggering and bug fixes ever since.

what I would do was put all of the data into WE, then when all units and stuff are done, export it with "Export Unit Data". And import it into each map.

why did you convert stats to WC3 style? I don't think it would be absolutely necessary.

@TheSecretArts: So all units do the correct average number of hits to kill each other. All units move and build at the same effective speed as war2. Can see the same number of tiles as war2. And still with the stats the same numbers as war2. If you just put the war2 stats into war3 you will find its not accurate at all. Hence i had to work out how to change the damage system to still keep those numbers but simulate the war2 combat engine. war2 calculates pretty much everything totally differently from war3. It would be no way a copy of war2 if i'd done that.

it totally kicks ass but its not working for 1.22 :(
do you guys fix that ?

PS: the deathknight looks like the normal wc3 model :(

@TaShadan: We dont have a 1.22

We did have a death knight model but it was bugged so wouldn't work in game. If you play enhanced mode guldan has a pretty kool model.

He means War2:2ndGen is not working with Blizzard patch 1.22.
