![]() Hello.
I just wonder if the Lavaspawn unit uses the Firelords texture. In any case, I am unable to find any of them while browsing through the mpq files with Wc3 veiwer. So how do I export them? |

![]() WC3 Viewer cannot browse War3 Path.mpq. You'll need Magos' Model Editor for that. And yes, Lava Spawn does use Firelord's texture. If you need help on exporting the textures while in Magos' Model Editor, take a look at my tutorial(Exporting files from an MPQ). There is a link to it in my signature.

![]() Yes, the Lava Spawn uses the same texture as the Firelord.
The Firelord is hidden in some file which is a bit harder to access with WC3Viewer. To see and extract that model and a few more you have to go to File>External listfile and then select the txt file I attached in this post (which I obtained from the program MPQ Master). Iīm pretty sure the Firelord and Lava Spawn are inside the creeps folder. |

![]() I prefer to use WC3V, so it depends. I donīt like to use 3 different programs to do the same thing. Also, I did the whole process once and the other times the file is uploaded automatically, so it isnīt as annoying as it sounds.

![]() Thanks for answering.
However, there is still an issue left. I want to change the Lavaspawns texture for a hero, is there any way I can reduce the Firelord texture filesize of almost 300kb? Since I doubt the Lavaspawn uses that much of the texture. Last edited by Fasolace : 12-05-2009 at 07:01 PM. |

![]() Remove the armor parts and save with lower quality.

![]() If I remember correctly, the Firelord texture comes in 512x512 by default, so you should reduce it to the usual 256x256 (or even less if the texture can take it) and also do what deolrin suggested.
