An actual second window obviously. The navigator is the navigator, not a second window :/

artforge - yeah its just a "collage" using letrasets. mainly a "let loose" project. i have a rly uptight typo project but it would be even more innapropriate for this thread xD.

erwt - i dont get it. you paint on the second window too?

No the second window is there to provide an overvieuw of your composition. It helps you keep an eye on the bigger picture while you're working on details. It updates the image as you paint in the main window. In contrast to the navigator, the second window is actually good quality and more flexible to use. You could technically paint in it as well but i dont see why.

Helps in proportion issues too, not just the general composition, also, gets rid of the useless little details that you'd paint but that wouldn't show up anyway in the end...

I'm pretty sure you can do all that with the navigator? You can resize the navigator as you see fit and you can keep your main window (the only one, in this case) maximized.
I'm sure I'm still missing something in how a typical two window setup works.

---

It's kinda stimulating to draw on the bus (only when it doesn't turn too much). You really pay attention to the lines (when using pens). I haven't had problems with people, my subject usually doesn't care or knows and the people near me just glance furtively at my sketchbook.

His elbows are abnormally thin and the rest of his arms look strange. Otherwise, it's very stylized and neat.
