Default AMAI 2.50c won't start

I tried downloading and installing AMAI version 2.50c (the latest one to date I believe), both the Simple Edition and vs-AI edition. I have Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne v1.21a installed (running from the original CD, without any extra modifications or hacks installed). Whenever I click on AMAI_TFT.EXE it runs the game just fine, but no changes are actually seen in the game (the Commander menu and other AMAI stuff doesn't appear, so it seems like nothing is installed).

In the console I can see the following messages, among others:

found Software\Blizzard Entertainment\.....
injecting bin\loadmpq.dll...

Once I quit the game the above-mentioned messages still remain, as if AMAI_TFT.EXE is still running (and it *is* still running, as a matter of fact). I need to shutdown it manually after I quit the game, I'm not sure if it's normal or not. I tried reinstalling the game from scratch, repatching it to 1.21a, and running again, but no luck.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 on Intel P4 2.5Ghz / 1024MB RAM / GeForce6600 256MB, if that's of any significance.

I'd be glad for any help.
Thanks in advance.

After the

injecting bin\loadmpq.dll... If it worked you should see a number and the word done appear underneath this.

That's the real trick - I don't see the words "Done", any numbers, and so on. It seems like the executable for AMAI just hangs. The same happens for both ROC and TFT versions. Here's how it happens: the console appears with the message "injecting....", after which the game CD protection starts (the spinning disk appears), after which the game starts normally (without AMAI, unfortunately). After I quit the game the console is still there, writing "injecting....". I have to close it manually.

hmmm very odd. All i can suggest is you notify PipeDream at http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthre...t=86652&page=7. Grimoire is what controls the amai executable so see if he might know why its not injecting the amai mpq into your warcraft.

OK, thanks for a suggestion, Strategy Master, I've reported my problem there.
For now I found a workaround - not to use Grimoire at all, manually unpack the MPQ and insert the blizzard.j / *.ai files into standalone maps using the MPQ Master, similar to how previous versions of AMAI worked. Anyway, it would be nice to know the real solution so that I won't have to install AMAI into every map separately. :)

Great job with AMAI, by the way! Thanks for the great project, finally I can have some single player custom-game fun!

You could just download the player edition. Would be easier than doing that method lol

Oh, thanks for the hint! I didn't see the player's edition initially and I thought there was none available anymore (I thought the simple ed replaced it altogether). Thanks, now I'm happy with PE! :D
