Youc ould go the easy way as I suggested to SK and just make it a square plane with an alphaed texture. Much less polies that way :P

god those wings were a pain. anyway, i could use transparency but i think it wouldn't look very good, especially if it's rotating and moving around and shit.

Don't worry much about adding depth to the wings and the key. Even if they are moving, you can still get quite a good result with just transparency. Remember these are meant for very small units taht will rarely feature in cinematics, so certain detail will surely get lost. Just give enough illussion that it exists and you are done :)

well if your ok with the way it is now I'll try rigging it. i can always optimize it once i get it rigged and it's simple enough i can probably do it after it's skinned.
