Well, it'd be a whole nother project, but in the future start with 'Shallow Water' and use the 'Raise' tool, then plateu to make it all normal land. Make cliffs with the 'Raise' tool and make lakes, rivers, seas, oceans, bays, etc with the Terrain -> Height pallet.

NO! he's not telling you to make it less flat, he's telling you to do this.
About that bridge: you might raise the lower cliff and lower the higher cliff with the height tools that way the bridge looks less ugly. Also, on that same picture i would have had about 3-4 less cliffs raising up till that fiery mess. A little is good, but there is a such thing as too much of something good. About the second picture: The river looks pretty nice. I really like it alot... but 1. that cattail looks overrun by water, it wouldn't grow in a river raging that fast and certainly wouldn't stay that long. 2. with a river running that fast the bank wouldn't be rigid it would be slowly growing outward like it is if you follow my above link 3. those turtles would have been swept away. but it's still really cool. About the third picture: most towns have fences... just a thought. It may help keep out those bandit looking people on the outskirts. but I hardly ever see medieval towns without fences, for bandit, child, and livestock purposes I'm sure. __________________of each other? why is there red fog on the grass (it suits the firery part but not the grass part) Add some tile variation to the grass on the left hand side of the image and add some lava cracks to the lava. On the lava, add some fire Thats all for image 1 |

Wow, I didn't even notice he did that... you should probably change the grass to dirt close to the lava. By the way, that river is looking much much better now.

In the 3rd picture, the sky is red which looks REALLY awkward, for me anyway.

You are still using cliffs. Try to make it more natural looking, I found some examples for you. EDIT: in the first screenshot the grasses can be found on this website. I do not know the exact link, too lazy to find it, but search grass on models resources or the forums. Last edited by ~Void~ : 09-03-2007 at 03:19 PM. |
