It's based off of hexidecimal color values.
__________________http://www.easyrgb.com/matching.php will give you several colors that match with each other. It even teaches you how to correct the colors in your monitor. hexidecimal basically works like RGB Red Green Blue. Except you have 2 values for each. Ex: FF0000 is 100% red 0% green 0% blue |

You could also use my tutorial(link in my Sig) to learn about color codes. It also has a small list of color codes + a wc3 color gen for IRC(no gradient effect yet).
