creating a playlist

I don't know how to create a playlist for music. I suppose I could set the next song with triggers on timers, but can I just create a whole list of about 5 songs during initialization and leave them alone such that they play all 5 then repeat? Also, can I import say 6 songs, but only have 5 in the playlist and play the 6th on some kind of timer?
