What a shame, seems like a lot of stuff was lost, SinisterX's pre-released Blood elf model pack for example.
With some luck, people will reupload most of the lost resources..

One question: vBulletin forum doesn't have a way to list or autoassign attachments to a thread or post? or at least to show a way to emphasize the orphan attachments??

Without the database, all the information we have is the user that uploaded an attachment and the attachment id. But maybe that's enough of good information.

Now that I figure, new attachments could be possibly removing old attachments, will look if there is a way to increase the next attachment id so that it doesn't happen.

Totally and definitely. In fact it should be avoided temporary to add any attachment until the ID is set into a higher value.

Argh, that sucks, it's pretty difficult remembering what happened over the past year with such strange activity patterns. As previously said, thankfully the site activity isn't actually that large, but it does still sting a bit especially for those that uploaded. Hopefully recovery won't be too much of a hassle.

Turned out to be as easy as setting the next auto_increment to 100000

It seems I misunderstood you. I thought you set the new ids to whatever they were before the downtime plus the increment, in which case a smaller number would have probably been enough given the amount of activity we had over the past year. If I understand correctly now, the next attachment to be uploaded will get the id 100000 and not around 155000.

Yeah, I don't remember the period I was retired for a while. Just lost a map testing, thats all. But people which submitted resources last year must do it again.


Well this isn't a very active site so it not a catastrophe. Still got the good old resources which is very useful.
