Hm, maybe someone else can confirm if RLE is supported?
__________________PS: Paint.NET requieres the .NET framework. I'm surprised you don't have it installed considering that many programs need it. It can be downloaded from the microsoft site. Also i think Paint.NET doesn't support TGA out of the box, it needs some tga dll plugin. Last edited by PitzerMike : 10-04-2008 at 09:42 PM. |

You should make a mention whether or not war3mapMap overwrites war3mapPreview or not. I say this because I'm unsure if it does or doesn't and it would be good to know.

Hey, thanks for confirming that RLE is not supported. I'm gettin to work on the TGA thing now, I'll post it tomorrow.
__________________EDIT: Unless WC3 not supporting RLE's makes it so only 24-bit TGAs work? EDIT 2: Alright thanks to my friend I've tested it already. 24 and 32 work fine, but: I tried it with a 16 and it fatal-errored. Last edited by Sabertooth_X : 03-16-2009 at 02:59 AM. |

Useful. Map / Preview bit was something I didn't know too. Anyway, clearer and more specific than the current one, so approved.

Oddly enough, when I do tgas in PDN with RLE-compression enabled, it works out fine in Warcraft. Maybe you missed something.
On a related note: Short, to the point tutorial. There is a tutorial for this on the-helper.net, but that's the only one I've seen. 'Bout time Wc3c got one. |

What if I only want to modify a portion of the in game minimap? For example, the top and bottom border? Would I have to take an ingame screenshot and then resize it to 128 x 128 and then modify it and reimport it, or is there some way to edit only a poriton of the image and let the rest remain how itd normally look in game?

You could try exporting the existing minimap/preview and then adding your corners to that.

Let me see if I understood it correctly....
If I have two different images to MapPreview and MapMap I'll still have different images or will MapMap replace the MapPreview? Regards, Confused Ragnaros :) |
