NOTE: You have been redirected in order for our attachments to be made available to you. This will only last two minutes; these measures where taken to avoid hotlinking and bandwidth theft. To avoid these restrictions Log in or Register This pack contains multiple card items and their respective missiles (Both of which make use of planes). Two of which were originally made after the Yu-gi-oh! show and tcg, the rest done by request. Remove the "war3mapimported\" in the texture path(s) in order to get them to work. These could be used for card keys or spell cards or w/e.
Please give credits to Sunwarrior25 and Blizzard (for the base models) if you use these in your map, and note that an Item's default team color seems to be white.
P.S.: You may go ahead and use your own design instead of the ones in the pack, and if you want to show it off, then please PM me (or reply to this thread) with a link to a Pastebin/thread and I will provide a link to said Pastebin/thread in the "Custom Designs" box below. Hint: These tutorials can help.

The card missile is kinda dark. Otherwise, cool.

EDIT: The best I can do is brighten up the alternate texture. I just looked at a RL Yu-gi-oh! card, and it's back is pretty dark. However, the first season of the show (in the U.S.) used a simpler design (what the alternate is based on). It is possible to replace either of those textures with your own, as they are just 128x128 targas.

But targas work just fine ingame (for some strange reason...)EDIT/DOH!: I probably won't upload the skins as .blp-s until I can figure out the BLPaletter, get the Wc3 Image Extractor II to recognize the "compression" on the targas, or heck freezes over... ![]() Last edited by Sunwarrior25 : 06-01-2008 at 08:13 PM. Yu-Gi-Oh-esque things make me cry so much inside. Though, this could equally be used for Magic: The Gathering (it makes me cry to see that done badly).
__________________It's a good, basic work. Though, I have one comment... are the cards really that pointy cornered? I always thought they had curved corners. |

Hmmm... I'll alpha out some curves onto the skins. You are of course free to put your own textures onto these cards (Go Fish?)
EDIT: The RL Yu-gi-oh! cards (I have a good strong deck right next to me) actually have sharp corners, although they get round with age. I'm not sure about the show's though... I'll wiki it. EDIT2: ok, the RL cards have a slight curve to their corners, but not that noticeable from a distance. I'm not enough of a fan to know the specifics of the show's cards... *UPDATE: added BLPs, seems like Wc3viewer is the one program that liked me. I think the texture needs to be brightened; right now it just looks like black pieces of cardboard flying around.

EDIT: Should I check the unshaded marker in the material? or make the texture lighter (again)?

This may be a late suggestion, but how about making a highlighted edge like on actual Yu-Gi-Oh cards or something?

I did... it seems that the top of the card is being shaded as though it were the bottom, and vice versa... making details unnoticeable in game I'm going to change these models so that they aren't shaded, just so that they'll be bright enough to see.UPDATE: uploaded the unshaded cards... my hands are cramping, I think I'll take a break and let you guys do what you guys do (whatever it is) EDIT: I notice that the items have this annoying habit of throbbing. If any of you can help me fix this common cause of migranes, I would greatly appreciate it. Last edited by Sunwarrior25 : 06-01-2008 at 08:13 PM. |

EDIT5: I have resolved to leave the Items unshaded, as I think they are more visible that way. The missiles... I still need help there.

Ah, that's better. They're much easier to see now. I can actually tell what they are.
