Hello - I split this from the questions thread, as it doesn't belong there.
And,
I think your skin needs to be a lot smaller, and more detail, and a lot of changes to the model, but it's looking pretty good so far
EDIT: Also, just a note, but there is now no time limit, and you can choose any doodad that isn't marked complete. (But the thread isn't done so ) http://www.wc3campaigns.net/revolution/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9938

current texture kills the model, try working on that a bit or better yet if thats to much working with a skinner that way u can pump the model he/she can pump the skin

That's kinda bogus man. You're basically telling him one part of it sucks and he needs to not even try to make it better and get someone else to do it. Let him figure it out on his and make his OWN model. That's what a lot of this IS d00d. It's people learning how to model and create skins and learn that kind of art. So don't just say "You're skinning sucks, we're replacing you." Give him a damn chance man!

are you kidding me? that model rocks!!! the skin shouldnt be any bigger nor smaller. 256 is fine because its a big doodad. all he needs, and im saying all he needs is more detail in the skin.

It looks nice. I think that making the inside of some of those tubes as separate shading groups would help the skin look better.

256² is way too big.
No generic doodad should get that treatment, unless it's huge or very pronounced (like the robot, for example).
But that's not a primary worry. You CAN paint on 256² if you want, but you should consider that we'll likely downsize the texture to a quarter before we rate it.
So consider if you really used the space. Make every pixel count.
