The Lair and the Hive icon is interchanged even in Sc1 so i don't think you should complain...

I didn't need to float the building but then again, I made sure to place the main part of the building at the same position the original one was located at.
One thing I noticed was the SCV appeared to hover when building some of the buildings but only a minor issue

seeing through that it's obviously not finished yet, i'll have to say that PR looks very promising - the work on the terrain and a lot of the graphics is very good
i'll be giving my feedback as i get to play around with it more. there are oviously a bunch of minor bugs and issues but i guess you are probably aware of most of them
one big thing that put me a little off though; it was one of the first things i noticed that build times seemed to be very off, consistently too long. I used a stop clock and timed the construction of a couple of things and compared to original SC (on -fastest- speed, needless to say) and here's what i found:
| Code: |
SC PR
scv 00:13 00:20
supply depot 00:26 00:40
barrack 00:50 01:20
|
(all times approximates)
seems like a constant factor of ~1.55
did you copy the build times for all SC units ? maybe 60 build time in SC is not the same as 60 in WC3. Or maybe it has to do with the variable speed setting in SC and that PR actually resembles SC on "fast" or something? Or is there a speed setting in PR that i overlooked?
i also have a hunch that unit movement speeds and ranges are also off but i haven't gotten around to testing that yet
i hope u'll be able to make something out of this.. remember 99,999% of all SC players play on fastest

|
I'm not positive but I am pretty sure it was setup for the middle speed setting.

Very nice, but a few things:
1. If your playing the mod, dont try to use campaign, great way to cause a crash.
2. Alot of sound oddities. Examples include: Says "upgrade complete" instead of "nuclear missile ready" after building a nuke. Also, sound seemed missing for "Nuclear Launch detected."
3. Siege tanks can fire a shot at a target before the turret has turned to face the direction of firing if target is in exact opposite direction of where turret was facing when told to force fire on target.
4. Terran buildings in mid-air dont have an option to build an add-on.
5. Nuclear blast radius seems too big, kills a ghost even at max range and having ghost run away.
6. Seemed like nuclear explosions lack a proper animation for it.
7. Game speed option at max seems slower than Starcraft at max speed
8. Clicking on a unit repeatedly doesn't give you those oh-so-funny phrases that units did in Starcraft. (sound was ripped right from starcraft cd....)

BTW as an important note, warcraft has the 1 second timed to fastest and starcraft has it timed to normal game speed. So that is why the game runs slow. The times are only set to run at a starcraft normal gamespeed when you have it set on fast. You'll have to decrease the times to get them to run the same as starcraft.
I've also noticed that Mana regen is slow in the game, it's suppose to be 1 mana per second.
Also I think that mineral gathering must be too fast, because I get more money than I should I'm pretty sure. I'm building tons of buildings before my first barracks is done, and this is at the same time as keeping my SCV production at like 3 or 4 in queue.
Small Note: The Starport is supposed to be able to build Science Vessels even if it does not have an attachment yet.
Also just so everyone is clear, the range on a ghost nuke is smaller or equal to the blast radius, when i play starcraft it's like a half and half chance that if I don't move my ghost out of the way he'll die. so either equal or about a 25 war3 measurment smaller.

To continue what Naga_warrior and Zergleb said, the build speed of PR with game speed + now corresponds to that of starcraft with game speed 4.
SC game speed 7 is 160% of that (i.e. barracks build in 50s instead 80s).
With warcrafts three speed settings, you can either aim at game speed 7 or 6 of SC, you can't have both I fear.
While the same measure applies to train times and attack rating times (I only timed for bc), movement and turning speed is different.
With game speed + in PR, SCVs move more than twice as fast as they are supposed to at the corresponding game speed 4 of SC, and even faster than on game speed 7 of SC (at least that's what I figured out measuring movement speed of SCVs after acceleration on a horizontal track of 6 supply depots in length, both SC and PR: PR[+] 3,6s SC[7] 5,2s SC[4] 7,9s).
That is why one feels that buildings take forever to complete and resources are gathered way too fast.
Minor bugs not mentioned so far are that vespene depletes with about 40 left in the refinery, SCVs don't load into bunkers like they should, there is no collision control for building add-ons and the yamato upgrade is 100/100 not 200/200. There is also a strange push-away effect when ordering air unis to follow other air units.
Besides this hindrances, this demo shows you are quite close to the maximum extent SC possible in warcraft.
You PR guys have really done a nice job so far, keep it up!

That's a Warcraft 3 bug. It's happened to me a few times before.

Well..i noticed a few bugs, but there are a few bugs that bothered me..especially the buildings, which can overlap things when they land..
This is the results when 5 buildings decided to land on the same spot...also notice the 2missle turrets underneath it ^^
also...i always see flying scvs when they build stuff...sometimes they actually got on a cliff after the building is finished

Great job so far, just downloaded this - I had seen it quite a while ago, and I must say that I am very impressed. That being said, here's a whole bunch of stuff you probably already know about that I'm going to list in case you don't.
- Science Facility, I tried to create a Cover-Ops addon, and placed the destination on top of another science facility with the battlecruiser addon. It gave an error saying that it could not land. After landing it somewhere else, it was unable to do anything but liftoff again.
- SCVs do not appear to be living units, they can't be hurt by irridate.
- Spider mines seem to attack units nearby, and can do so without exploding. This was seen when I layed a mine next to a zerg hatchery and it moved towards the larvae and the larvae died, but the mine did not explode (no other units nearby).
- The zerg larvae have way too few hp (supposed to be 200 I think).
- Funkiness when landing/taking off of buildings, they seem to shift in their placement.
- You appear to be able to build on top of vespene geyers (untested, but green as if I could build there).
- As mentioned earlier in the thread, you can build a CC as close as you want to minerals.
- Weird bars through the wireframe portaits, as well as some wireframes do not turn fully green even though the building itself is at 100%.
- Seige tanks do not show up properly at the factory until the addon is built.
Good luck and continue the good work.

A real quickie; zerg AI seems to have a glitch. It sometimes harvests vespene instead of minerals. Like only vespene.

I thought the zerg is not complete? But yeah..don't know if this was mentioned, but AIs can always harvest vespene without building a refinery

Great demo! I love the menu background animation.
Noticed some things:
- You can select multiple SVCs and build a new CC close to minerals. Green buildlocation when it should be red.
- Before building a Control Tower addon, Starport only shows Wraith as buildable. The inactive icons of the other units are gone.
- I'm quite bothered about the goliath walk anim. It seems to float, moving faster than the legs are moving.
- If the ghost is killed before nuke is delivered the dot remains.
