I don't mean to kidnap your thread. But can people post any good MMORTSs (free or otherwise) while they're at it?

WoW. Face it. In majority, it's complete and entertaining.

Unless you get bored of the same repetitive gameplay. Happened to me, anyway.

tried it. liked it. don't wanna spend too much time on it.
If you get what i mean, I was doing a rank 14 run n quit the game the week before i hit 12. That's how depressing the game got if you wanna catch up with the 1337 ppl. The guild I helped build was pure shit in the start and then when it became 1337 and posed a "1337 threat" to others, we got accused of a) cheating, b) fixed games. Of course, all accusations were by the "1337 guilds". If you weren't worshipping the game, you were paying $15 a month to have the fun you could have playing free things.

Wow kinda sucks. The grahics are cartoony, the cobat and skill system is atrocious, as it is in most rpg's, and when it comes to pvp most of the people are dumb-shits . . .

RPGs?
WoW is pretty good (at least now anyway... the pvp system has been changed so you don't have to be sleepless to get to rank 14 ) just don't let the game play you.
Guild Wars is also pretty good, if you're looking for some faster action than WoW, as well as the free play
Darkfall Online should be pretty sweet... but it might be caught in development hell...
RTSs?
The only one I can remember is that... one... with the ships and aliens and crap...
ummm.... I'll get it, no one help me.
...
...
...
...google...
SHATTERED GALAXY! That's the one.
It was pretty awesome I think.

That's an opinion, not a fact. I think the graphics suit the game fine. Opinion.

Yeah, I mean, some of the pvpers are VERY skilled.
hmm... example... example...
Ah, a hunter boosting his strength for pvp.
Goes and plays melee style with Beastmastery/Survival.
Unfortunately, I'm not rich enough (in-game) to afford such mail strength items, so I play the default ranged hunter...
...but it really confuses the hell out of rogues
And the combat system... well, savage-style would be good if everyone had a very low latency connection. But since that's not the case, the time-based combat system will do me fine for now.

The whole concept of "doing damage" just kills me in an rpg. How much dmg do I do if i cut his cock off?! seriously . . . . . . when i cut off his head he should die no matter how much hp he has . . . on the other had if he only scrathes my arm even if he's level 50 billion it's only a scratch . . .

WoW was fun for about 3 1/2 months for me, then I did pretty much everything I could/wanted to do. All that was left was PvP and I don't like PvP much. I also tried Everquest 2 (trial version) I'm not sure it's worth it as the trial doesnt leave the tutorial island and you cant level past level 6.

"It's just a scratch."
"No it's not! Your ARM'S OFF!"

Too bad beastmastery makes your pet you and you your pet's pet. What more fun to ruin the game than let an AI do the damage for you. As a hunter, I never relied on my pet. My belief in a pet was for the sole reason of spell interruption and a living DoT, not a party member doing more dps than you. And just for the record, hunters don't use Str for melee attack. It all depends on the weapon. I hacked the shit out of a tier 2 rogue with a peacemaker. But then again, blizzard felt a nerf on hunters was neccessary since we get 1 shotted by warriors anyway. Where's the fun in a game where you get used to a system just so that it gets completely changed in a week to where you can't recognize it anymore?

Means you have to adapt ^^ Where's the fun in a game where there's just a basic set of actions you have to follow to win each and every time?

Hmmm there's several ways to make a game fun without having to resort to massive and constant updates, which just add more of the same to the game, or erf's random classes . . .
1) Every time you die . . you die. That's it by-by. New character to play.
2) Savage style combat system with a realistic map of critical and fatal areas on the body to strike.
3) Replace leveling with tendencies, where you generally get better at doing something after a while of doing it but get worse after a while of not doing it.
