looks great..
one thing tho..
is it just me, or does the "tower" below the blades looks slightly different in the sprite than yours?
from what I can see, the tower in the sprite is wider at the bottom than at the top, like a bit cone shaped or something..
but maybe it's just the lighting playing tricks with me?
not a big deal though.. I'm one of those guys who agree with whoever said that when a model reaches a state where you'd have to really compare closely to the sprite, to be able to see differences, it's bloody good enough.
great work, really hope Snowflake agrees..

Looks great! All that's left is matching the lighting and colours a bit more to the sprite.

To me its, perfect, 95 percent of people wont notice the detail especially since a little image of the original wont be in the game, most wont tell the difference and will think thats perfect. Awsome job!!! Keeep it up, I would love to see another Doodad, because your one of the best artists on this forum and we need you to create the doodads.

I think it needs to be slightly rustier...dirtier...just so that it will blend in with the badlands...If it looks too clean and sharp iit'll look less like a doodad and more like a building. I think a priority is that it needs to blend well. And just a fine layer of rust and dust will give it the tip it needs to be perfect.

People don't memorize it, but they do implicitly remember what it looks like. Your brain can tell if it does or doesn't look like the sprite, but you can't tell why until you compare then side-by-side. For doodads it's not that important though (unless you're trying to prove you're good enough to join the team )

Looks beautiful, but if you are going to work on it further, here is an image of areas you might want to fix up.
Edit: What i mean by fix up is add shapes and highlight, but other then that it looks absolutly amazing.

Make sure you get the colours right - you can't go wrong picking colours straight out of the sprite image. Notice how the sprite's blades are bright white, but yours are grey, everything on the sprite has more contrast, etc. I find it's a lot easier to flesh out the areas of colours early on.

And I agree with Friendly Warlord.
