Unfortunatelly they did not change it, they still use some stupid jpeg library from 2001.

Version 4.2

This new version is not as "major" as I planed because I failed to add support for reading/writing BLP files. (due to old jpeg compression blizzard is using)

The good thing is that I discovered that I don't need BLP-jpeg writing because paletted BLPs are better for icons.
This is because paletted BLPs are always smaller than jpeg BLPs when texture size is 64x64 or smaller (as is the case with icons)
Using jpeg compression has sense only with unit skins ans stuff like that.

To add to the effect mpq compression of maps will further reduce the size of paletted BLPs so they will be even smaller while jpeg BLPs are unafected by mpq compression (because they are already compressed)

I as an Apple (user) will try it out.

EDIT!

Holy shit, this is awesome.

Edit:
Shit, this works with all sizes. 0.0

Awesome! It works great. I've been looking for something like this for ages.
Great job there, man.
