Tried to make some light effects, which Blizzard forgot to add.

Early Sunset be my favourite, you should see it in motion. ^_^

No system. Would be a bit too complicated, at least for me. =/

Thanks everyone.

Sorry to bring back a month-dead thread, but... just, completely pondering nonsense here, but... if terrain obstructs billboards then that early sunrise should be entirely posible ingame, and if not then those light halos definitely could be, at least during a cinematic. Right?

2-P 02-12-2007 04:17 PM

Yes, it works perfectly fine in cinematics. And it looks in motion a lot better than on a screeshot. =) Ingame shouldn't be a problem either, the only trouble spot might be the camera angle.

Just stick with normal water and don't use the water model that I used in the screenshot. Getting the light at the right height can be a painful process and the light also shows the edges of the model.

So shiny and nice..

Pyritie 03-30-2007 03:49 PM

well the first one could be done without photoshop at least... just need a pink sky model and set the terrain fog to black and 100% opacity

ghenjis 03-31-2007 01:50 AM

That's excellent!
Would you mind posting map?

Lol I didn't use Photoshop, don't take everything serious what iNfraNe says. :)

ghenjis:
The terrain for the first screenshot was made on Born²Modificate's high-res map, so it's a little bit too big for posting it. I used Mc !'s cloud models for the sky, they didn't get affected by the black fog.
I attached the other two maps.
