WC3 now uses JassHelper?
I noticed that new WC3 installation includes JassHelper, and it is also mentioned in the credits.

Does anyone know what it's being used for? Is it included in the editor by default now?

it is auto-included in the vanilla editor now, along with a lot of extended editor functionality introduced by 3rd parties, which i think is pretty cool

JassHelper is used for "compiling" vjass back into jass, which is WC 3's native in-game scripting language. GUI also "compiles" into jass as a parallel. vjass is a much more Object Oriented Programming flavored extension of vanilla jass, and also provides several key extensions for controlling code / name-space scope that are important for large projects and/or inter-project code re-use

if you don't already care about vjass you won't immediately care about this, but the fact that blizzard is including important 3rd party tools into the vanilla editor is a very optimistic sign

Wow. Which (or should I say whose) version of jassHelper is included, though?

I'm pretty certain that it is Vex's JassHelper.

Yes, it lists Vexorian in credits now (towards the end), and the installation has a folder with JassHelper, pjass and sfmpq along with their licenses.

Does it also include most WEU features now? Been ages since I last used the editor.

not yet, sadly. it seems like the GUI interface is doing okay, though the JASS interface is just as bad as vanilla ever was. it might actually be worse, there's some funky scroll position bugs

it seems like people who want to continue developing are either using some external text editor + compatible jass highlighting or are finally giving Wurst a shot. to its credit, Wurst is making its best effort ever to be useful and compatible

They do have more plans to add more jasshelper functionality to the vanilla editor, including highlighting. So will just be a matter of time.
